At Sanctuary Trust, we are always proud to recognise people
who go above and beyond in their service to others. Our Chairperson, Julie
Latham, has introduced a special Chairperson’s Award to honour exceptional
members of staff who embody the values and heart of Sanctuary Trust.
This time, Julie chose to honour Steve, Senior Worker at
Jannat House, for his outstanding commitment, leadership and compassion.
Steve’s journey with Sanctuary Trust began as a volunteer.
He brought with him lived experience of homelessness, addiction and time in
prison — experiences that have helped shape the empathy, understanding and
determination he now brings to his work every day. Through hard work,
resilience and dedication, Steve has become a highly valued member of the
Jannat House team.
In his role, Steve provides leadership within our rapid
relief accommodation, supporting people who may be facing situations similar to
those he has overcome himself. His insight helps us improve the service we
deliver, ensuring that people are met with dignity, practical support and
genuine understanding.
Steve’s story is a powerful reminder of the difference
people can make when their experience, compassion and commitment are used to
help others move forward.

by all of us at Sanctuary Trust. Thank you for the leadership, encouragement
and hope you bring to Jannat House and to the people we serve.
