Craig takes on Media City Challenge in Memory of his Mum

Craig first visited Halsall House over six years ago. At that time, thing’s didn’t quite come together for him- the timing was not yet right. However, Craig would have an opportunity to revisit Halsall House many years later for a second chance at overcoming some of the most difficult struggles.

In June 2025, Craig returned to Halsall following the loss of his mum, a deeply difficult period in his life. From early on in his residency at Halsall House, The Sanctuary Trust staff observed a noticeable change in Craig. He appeared ready to think long-term and make changes towards recovery. He began asking how he could achieve his goals. Craig continues his journey towards recovery at Halsall House with the hope that this time, he can makes some real strides towards overcoming some of the toughest barriers in addiction recovery and homelessness.

Today, In memory of his Mum, Craig is taking part in the Halsall Running Challenge, running in Media City alongside other lads at Halsall House. For Craig, this is not simply about recovery- it’s in memory of his Mum, marking the first anniversary of her passing, a year ago today.

Let’s support Craig has he honours his mum whilst continuing to stride forward with purpose towards recovery: www.justgiving.com/campaign/halsallrunningchallenge2026
