For so many of us, Christmas Eve is a night filled with warmth, family, and the anticipation of a joyful Christmas morning. But for others, it’s a night spent on cold streets, with no place to call home, no meal to enjoy, and no one to share it with.
For those struggling with homelessness, addiction, or the weight of debt, Christmas Eve can feel like the longest, darkest night of the year—a night with no light to guide them.
At The Sanctuary Trust, we understand that everyone deserves a chance for hope and comfort this Christmas. Just as the Christmas story reminds us of a guiding light that led the way, we believe hope can shine in the darkest moments of life—through the kindness of volunteers, support staff, and community forces coming together during this difficult time of year.
It’s a guiding light we strive to offer those who find themselves without a home, without support, and without hope. And with your help, that light can grow brighter.
Since 1990, Sanctuary Trust has worked to provide more than just shelter for people facing homelessness & related issues across North Wales and Greater Manchester. We’ve offered safe spaces in our community hubs, thousands of meals through Conwy Food Bank & Angie’s Angels, and most importantly, we’ve acted, respected & empowered all those who come to us- offering hope for the future.
For those on the streets, especially on Christmas Eve, the holiday season can be a stark reminder of what they’ve lost. For some, it’s a family, a home, or the ability to provide for themselves. For others, it’s a sense of connection or stability. Homelessness, addiction, and debt don’t stop because it’s Christmas; in fact, they often feel more overwhelming during the holidays.
