The Sanctuary trust is pleased to announce we have received funding from Lloyds foundation to develop a Crisis team.

Operating from The Reaching out Centre, the crisis team will consist of students / volunteers and persons with lived experience of homelessness, supported by an employed (part time) Crisis Coordinator. The employed Crisis Coordinator will not directly deliver intervention; their role is to train up students and volunteers to deliver crisis intervention

The purpose of the investment is to disadvantaged people meet basic needs during times of crisis in a way that recognises the valuable contribution persons with lived experience (of challenging situations) can offer disadvantaged people. In the process, we will be supporting volunteers, students and persons with lived experience of homelessness to develop key employability skills thus playing our part in cultivating the next generation of housing / homelessness workers, with lived experience

Mr Tony McManus is our new crisis coordinator, he has come from our Pass it on Team and is looking forward to applying the skills he has developed to make a difference through this exciting new project
